  • 1/2 cup whole milk warm
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Poppy Seed Filling

  • 2 tbsp walnuts chopped
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Make Dough and Filling:
  1. Mix the flour, warm milk, sugar, yeast, melted butter, eggs, and salt into a soft dough. Knead until smooth, cover, and let rise until doubled.
  2. Combine the poppy seeds, sugar, honey, raisins, walnuts, orange zest, and vanilla.

  2. Cover and let rise briefly. Heat the oven to 350 F and bake until golden and cooked through, about 35 to 40 minutes.
Cool and Serve:
  1. Cool completely before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with lemon glaze if desired.
