Instructions
Build the Drink:
Add whiskey, demerara syrup, and bitters to a rocks glass.
Add the large ice cube and stir for 20 to 30 seconds until chilled and lightly diluted.
Express the orange peel over the drink, rub it around the rim, and add it to the glass. Garnish with a cherry if desired.
Notes
Use a large cube for slower dilution.
Demerara syrup adds a subtle caramel note.
