The Sidecar is a classic French cocktail with a crisp, elegant balance of cognac, orange liqueur, and fresh lemon juice.
A cold, hard shake integrates the citrus and spirit while a lightly sugared rim softens the edges. Cognac brings warmth without making the drink heavy.

Taste the lemon before mixing. If it is especially tart, add a small amount of simple syrup rather than using extra orange liqueur.
Serving Suggestions
Serve in a chilled coupe with an orange twist. It pairs well with almonds, olives, charcuterie, or buttery pastries.

Recipe Notes
A half-rim lets you choose between a clean sip and a little sweetness. Use a good orange liqueur for a more aromatic finish.
